Coastal Community is joining forces with Cowichan Therapeutic Riding Association (CTRA) to run a social media contest to name the organization's new mobile tack store. A trailer that was purchased with the $5,500 grant CTRA recently received from Coastal Community's Building Healthier Communities Fund (BHCF) will be transformed into the mobile store.

Coastal Community is proud to announce five of our locations raised more than $15,000 for Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation's (NLSF) annual "Stock the Lockers" campaign. The funds will buy food and school supplies for area students in need, a cause our employees and members took to heart while adding a dash of fun along the way.

Coastal Community is pleased to announce that through its Building Healthier Communities Fund (BHCF), the Victoria Youth Paddling Club will receive a $4,000 grant. Dedicated to helping Island youth ages nine and up experience the lifelong benefits of paddling, the non-profit club will use the funding for a dock replacement project on the Gorge Waterway.

Nanaimo based Habitat for Humanity is getting a $6,300 boost from Coastal Community Credit Union to support its building and ReStore initiatives in South Central Island region. The Credit Union earmarked ten dollars towards Habitat for Humanity from every new mortgage and mortgage renewal generated from its 2005 “Bring Your Mortgage Home” program.
