Online Banking Security

At Coastal Community, online banking is the easiest and fastest way to manage your accounts. It saves you time when you need to view your statement, transfer money, deposit cheques or pay bills. You can even open new accounts, apply for a RRSP, get set up to receive account alerts, apply for a credit card and more. Additionally, our Island-based webchat is a secure and encrypted online communication between you and our team of experts.

Keep in mind, it is important to always practice safe online banking. Here are a few things you can do to keep your account secure:

Never reveal your PAC (Personal Access Code)

Change your PAC frequently

Use strong and unique passwords

Update security questions

Backup all of your important data

Update your anti-virus and anti-malware protection on your computer regularly

Do not disable your firewall

Upgrade your devices to the latest operating system, security patches, software or app upgrades

Use a modern browser and do not install unknown software or apps

Sign out of online banking at the end of each session

Be observant of account activity

Sign up for Coastal Community alerts

Use at least a 6-digit unlock code on your mobile device and setup a short timeout to auto-lock

*Members should refer to the Coastal Community Credit Union Direct Services Agreement for more information about fraud prevention, detection, procedures and liabilities.
