I hope you and your loved ones remain healthy and well.
It’s clear that our world has changed. That includes how you take care of your financial and insurance needs, and how we provide those services to you. What hasn’t changed is our team being here for you—to listen, to support, to provide advice, to help.
While there are many elements of these challenging times that are not clear, what is crystal clear is the amount of commitment, hard work and cooperation that’s going into supporting one another and adapting to our changing world.
I have heard many stories of members who have used online banking or a debit card for the first time in their lives. In the last couple of weeks alone, we’ve helped thousands more members and clients than ever before by phone, email or web chat, assisting with items like insurance renewals, investment advice and Interac e-transfers. This is in addition to working to process over a thousand deferrals on member loans, mortgages and business loans. And much more.
You, and we, are adjusting and trying new things, and most importantly, we’re doing this together.
I’d like to thank our members and clients for your continued confidence in us. We appreciate your extra kindness and patience—it goes a long way when we’re facing high call volumes or having to make service adjustments quickly. When it comes to your banking, insurance or investment needs, thank you for trying new ways of doing things. Thank you also for caring about the well-being of our employees.
Speaking of our employee team, I’d like to again recognize their committed efforts to help you—and one another—during these extraordinary times. At Coastal Community, we are providing services that are essential to Islanders, small businesses and our local economies. To our employees in all of our business lines and support departments, thank you for all that you’re doing and the necessary precautions you continue to take to protect yourself and others.
Of course, we will continue to take our lead from public health authorities and will closely follow their recommendations. We join you in doing all that we can to ensure our firewall stays strong so that we may flatten the curve in our province. Once again, our deepest thanks to you, our members and clients. We’re working as hard as we can to respond to your questions and requests, and we appreciate your patience. The kind and encouraging words you have for our employees are being shared company-wide and bring smiles to our faces.
As the situation continues to unfold, please know that we will likewise continue to adapt. The decisions we make will always be guided by our goal of providing you with the best options and solutions, while keeping our environment safe for you, our employees and our communities.
